Pine Valley Track

Pine Valley Track - Tasmania
Distance: 4.7 km one way
Duration: 3-4 hours
Pine Valley Track is a side walk done during the last stage of the Overland Track or as a standalone from Lake St Claire.
Between Windy Ridge and Narcissus Hut there’s a well signed turn off point to Pine Valley.
If you want to do it as a standalone you can get the ferry across the lake or walk around then head straight up. It’s much easier to catch the ferry in the morning and get dropped off.
The track is not the most defined at times especially when you get close to the hut. You need to keep looking ahead for single plank timber platforms or moss missing from tree stumps. It's mostly very obvious but keep an eye out.
The hut is pretty cool. Sleeps plenty of people, has a composting toilet and coal fire. There's a ranger stationed there in peak season.
The Labrynth is where it's at. The walk up there is something different. It's slippery as all hell to start with so watch your footing. It then moves into a rocky creek for a few hunded meters that goes directly up the side of a mountain. There's no sign just keep an eye out on the left for another track.
